DeliverEdocs/ILL  POLICIES
TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES

Our mission is to obtain materials for faculty, staff, and students and to provide document delivery among the TAMU campus libraries. We reciprocate by lending materials from the TAMU Libraries to other libraries for their users. The department participates in resource sharing through the lending and borrowing of materials nationally and internationally.

WHO MAY USE THE SERVICE?

Faculty, emeritus faculty, staff, currently enrolled students at the College Station campus (including Distance Education students), system agencies (TAES, TEES, TEEX, TAEX, Texas Forest Services), veterinarians in private practice in Texas and Texas Health Care Professionals, and visiting scholars are eligible to use this system.

HOW DO I REQUEST MATERIAL?

Place your requests (owned or unowned by TAMU libraries) through the deliverEdocs system.

HOW MANY REQUESTS CAN I SUBMIT PER DAY?

There is no limit. However, for items housed in our own collections, we will only process 10 requests per day for you. The remaining 20 will be processed the following days. If your requested items were not found in our collections, there is no limit for sending your requests out to other lending libraries to supply.

WHAT IS THE COST?

Electronic delivery of documents up to 50 pages to your desktop is free to most clients. Fees and special handling charges may apply depending on the level of service and affiliation. There is a $5.00 charge if you request print copies (up to 50 pages) rather than electronic delivery.

Experiment and Extension Agencies: Register selecting the Evans Library as your library association.  Your station accounting office must notify the Evans Library Interlibrary Services Department when the delivery service is to be initiated for that station. Your accounting office must establish an account number with the Evans library's business office (979-845-5717). All transactions will be charged to this account number.

Texas Health Care Professionals:  Register selecting the Medical Sciences Library a your library association.  Electronic delivery is free to those in the following counties: Bastrop, Bell, Brazos, Burleson, Burnet, Coryell, Galls, Grimes, Lampasas, Lee, Leon, Llano, McCulloch, McLennan, Madison, Mason, Milam, Robertson, San Saba, Travis, Washington, Williamson.

Electronic delivery is free to veterinarians in private practice in Texas.

For more information, please consult with the staff at one of the library service desks listed below.

TURNAROUND TIMES/URGENT NEED POLICY

If the standard 3-5 day turnaround time will not meet your needs, please indicate the urgency in the note field on the request form when submitting your request.  In order to expedite the request, contact the library staff by phone or email immediately after submitting your request.

If the requested material is not owned by the University Libraries, we will attempt to borrow the material from another library as quickly as possible.  Please be aware that this can take several days and, on occasion, weeks.
