How Are Requests Submitted

 

When you find a book listed in the TAMU Libraries’ Online catalog LibCat that is not checked out, and you need it to be retrieved from the shelves and held for you to pick up, just click the GET IT FOR ME button from the LibCat record, the system will automatically take you to the deliverEdocs system – the web based interlibrary loan/document delivery management system.  Once you log in to the deliverEdocs system, the information (call number, title of the book, location of the book) will be automatically imported for you, just click the submit button, that’s all you need to do.  For the first time user of the deliverEdocs services, you must register with the system by typing your personal information correctly to the system and choosing your user name and password. 

 

What Cannot Be Requested

 

Journals or multivolume sets.

Books in non-circulating status such as Reference books.

Books housed in our Cushing Special Collection Library.

 

What Is the Cost

 

There is no charge for this service except for patrons affiliated with Texas State Extension Services (formerly known as TAES, TEES, etc.), there is a shipping charge for books sent to your destination.

 

How Many Requests Can I Submit Per Day

 

We process 10 requests per day for you. 

 

How Long Does It Take To Receive the Requested Book

 

It generally takes up to 3 business days, in many cases within 24 hours.  If the book is not on the shelves, we will do a 2nd search on the 3rd business day, and if it is still not on the shelves, we will email you and ask if you would like us to borrow from other libraries.

 

How Can I Check the Status of My Request

 

Log in to the deliverEdocs system, under View section, click Outstanding Requests, you will then be directed to a page with a list of all your requests in process with their corresponding statuses.  If you click on the transaction number of the request to your interest, you can view detailed information regarding that request.

 

How Will I Know When the Requested Item Has Arrived

 

When your requested book is ready to be picked up, we will notify you by email.  Books must be picked up at the Evans’ Circulation desk, PSEL, or WCL service desks.  Please don’t pick up TAMU owned book at ILS service desk.  For distance education students and TAMU system agencies’ users, we will mail the book to your home address with UPS postage prepaid return address label.

 

How Can I Renew TAMU Owned Books

 

At TAMU Libraries’ homepage (http//library.tamu.edu), under Services tab, click Request Forms, under Library Materials, click Renew Library Materials.  Please don’t log in to deliverEdocs system to renew your TAMU libraries owned book, it won’t work.

 

Where Should I Return TAMU libraries Books

 

Return TAMU libraries books to the Evans Circulation Desk, or West Campus Access Services Desk, or PSEL Circulation Desk, or book drops located throughout the campus.
